- Our private client is looking to recruit an experienced and motivated butler/Personal Assistant to assist with the oversight and smooth running of two semi-formal households in London, with occasional European travel. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, with good management and communication skills. Must be a team player, with a friendly and polite demeanour who can work autonomously.
We are looking for an all-rounder who is content with a wide range of duties. When the principal is not in residence, your job role may vary, so we would be looking for someone that would be happy to embrace this. Driving is essential, as you will be required to move between residences freely and may be required to transport guests and / or run occasional errands.The principal also has residences in Europe and regularly makes international trips worldwide, so there may be some occasional travel.Key responsibilitieso Supervision and management of household staff - housekeepers, gardeners, chefo Oversight of household working rotas, holidays, sicknesso Events organisation and oversight in conjunction with the private officeo Administrative duties to include; inventories, insurance schedules, property maintenance, liaising with contractors, scheduling of essential works, keeping basic accounts, health and safety, ongoing staff training, stock residences.o Chauffeur duties - must driveo Valet duties - for the principal (and possibly visiting guests)o Formal table service and service of drinkso Supervision of cleaning of silver and care of fine art and antiqueso Liaison with art adviser to assist with receiving, hanging and cataloguing of pieces where necessaryo Personal Assistant service to all visiting guestso Responsible along with team for the maintenance and upkeep of all - glassware, crockery, bar equipmento Assist the house-keeping department in ensuring the front of house area is tidy when guests are in residence, e.g. straightening cushions, folding clothes etc.o Maintaining an accurate and up to date stock of all guest consumables - i.e. wine, champagne, alcohol, water etc.o Advise your team including the chef and the housekeepers of any change of plans that may affect other departmentso Maintaining and keeping all service storage areas organised, clean and tidy - fully stockedo Inform the private office of any issues or problems found by either yourself or your teamo You and your team will be responsible for setting up and cleaning down all guest entertaining areas both inside and out- for meals, drinks and general entertainment.Start date: August/SeptemberWorking week: Will vary on a rotation basis, typically 5-days on, 2-days off (6-day working week during UK visits)Hours: 50-60 hours during occupancy, must be flexible as the principal travels frequently so time off is to be taken when the principal is not in the UK. Regular evening and weekend work required. (Must respond to calls/messages out of hours)Travel: flexibility to travel, particularly during the summer season to support European residences with events.Salary: £30,000-£40,000
Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 2 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay
