We are looking for a live-in couple for our private client to join a large country household in Gloucestershire.
The position is Permanent, live-in, full time 5 days per week (to include weekends)
The house is home to a 4 ½ and a 1 year old and their mother. The family also have a live-in nanny.
The father works in London during the week and the family currently plan to spend every other weekend in London.
The family entertain at the house and may have guests when in residence at the weekends. Plans can be made last minute so you must be flexible and expect to have busy times as well as quieter periods when they are not in residence. There will be plenty to keep you occupied within the house and grounds when the family are away.
The family is looking for a super organised, experienced couple who can manage their home and ensure its smooth running. This role is suited to a couple who have experience in a busy household and are able to run a house to a high standard and create a pleasant, welcoming environment. They must be flexible within their roles, have lots of energy, and a can-do attitude to approaching the myriad of challenges that come with taking care of a period property and its’ grounds.
Duties will include:
- Overall management of the house and estate – including overseeing contractors when necessary.
- Cleaning, laundry and ironing – the house has 10 en-suite bedrooms
- Managing all aspects of the household - paying utilities, shopping, security, general maintenance, liaising with contractors & tradesmen etc.
- Family cooking – ideally someone who is happy to cook to a good standard for 6-12 people, sometimes at short notice.
- Front of house duties when the clients and guests are in residence – preparing the house for arrival, table setting, flower arranging, generally presenting the house to a high standard.
- Occasional event management – including hosting larger parties, dinners and events (external caterers will be contracted when required)
- Driving duties - for the family and guests, airport runs etc.
- Gardening – the family have a full time gardener but assistance may be required during busy periods.
- Tennis court and swimming pool maintenance
- Biomass maintenance
- The family have 2 dogs who will occasionally be left at the house and need to be looked after by the couple.

Accommodation Separate 2 bedroom cottage with garden - pets considered
Salary Negotiable / £30,000
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay
