Live-in Nanny Berlin

Our private client based in Berlin is looking for an English speaking Live-in Nanny for their 3 children: 2 girls 7 and 6 years old and a 3 years old boy.

Nanny required to care for three children, two little girls born October 2010 and April 2012 and a little boy born May 2015.  The position will be a mixture of sole charge and shared care.  The working hours will be Monday to Friday and will vary depending upon the parents work commitments. When the mother is away working, which is for approximately 4 months of the year, the hours will be 7am - 7pm, however when she is at home the nanny will be asked to work 9am - 5:30pm.  The accommodation will be an apartment with its own separate entrance comprising of bedroom, bathroom and kitchen.  A driver is preferable and a car will be provided for nursery duties. The family also employ a housekeeper.  There will be some business travel required and the typical destinations will be Hamburg, Munich and Vienna. Flexibility will be given to the successful candidate to have up to three returns flights home per year.

As the Mother spends time away with work,  there is a degree of flexibility required by the nanny.  The father also likes to be involved and is happy to take the children to school and spend as much time with them as possible when he is not working.   The family say that they firmly believe, that they can offer a wonderful working environment, free of hierarchy and characterized by mutual respect, kindness and warmth. The family home is located in a beautiful quiet residential neighbourhood of Berlin, but only a five minute ride into the bustling centre of the city.

The eldest child loves to paint, build, sing and put on little plays, she also plays the piano and does judo.  She is described as being inquisitive and kind and loves to take care of smaller children. She is somewhat stubborn and she is a dreamer, she can watch something that fascinates her with zen like concentration.

The middle child is smart and charming, she is very social and has great empathy. She too plays the piano and does judo. She sometimes does get bossed around by her older sister and we try to teach her to not let that happen.

The little boy is described as a happy camper, he loves his sisters and the whole world. He is energetic, but also has a charming and tender streak. He does need a set of rules, he is a typical boy.  He is due to start nursery school in the autumn of 2018.

All three children are bilingual, German and Italian and have started to learn English.

The successful candidate will be offered 32 days holiday a year.

£ 50.000 gross

Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 2 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay
