An exciting and unique opportunity to join a dynamic and highly motivated team managing an exclusive Private House, providing high end hospitality for the most prestigious Grouse Shooting Estate in the UK. Our client is looking for a highly organised, meticulous, adaptable and reliable individual with extensive Private Service and shoot experience, a self-starting attitude and an interest in rural activities. Working within an established and dynamic team, the role would suit an individual who thrives on meeting the demands of the owner and his family and the most discerning of clients, whilst retaining a friendly, out-going, highly organised but discreet and reliable approach to their work. A strong self-starter, with a meticulous eye for detail, the right person will remain focused on their responsibilities but also able to adapt rapidly to the challenges that a very busy shooting schedule may create.
Specific Responsibilities:
" Attend to the Owner and his family to ensure all of their requirements are met at all times
" Manage year round security and maintenance of the Hall and its associated Buildings, contents (Art, Taxidermy, Books, Silver etc.) and Grounds (Staff accommodation, Swimming pool, Pond, Gardens)
" Ensure the Owner and his family have any equipment (shooting, fishing, other outdoor activities) they require at all times, and that it is ready for use
" Provide any transport requirements for the Owner and his guests - this may include collection upon arrival, or delivery upon departure to their next mode of transport
" Ensure all Guests visiting have all of their requirements met, working in conjunction with the rest of the management team namely, House Keeper and Maintenance Manager.
" Manage and maintain an extensive wine cellar, and work in conjunction with Owner, and Head Chef to ensure it is utilised to its full potential. Update a real time cellar management record, and carryout an end of season stock take alongside an expert advisor
" Manage glassware, tableware, laying of tables and bars for all services
" Manage evening service Front of House Team in conjunction with Head Chef to include drinks, canapés, dinner and post dinner entertainment
" Provide a security presence during parts of the day, and late evening
" Managing and training junior staff in both Front of House and general House Management, Service and Valet skills
" Manage House Keeping team to ensure high standard of cleanliness and organisation are maintained within the main House and associated properties
" Manage year round security and maintenance of the Hall and its associated buildings and Grounds (Staff accommodation, Swimming pool, Pond, Gardens), as well as Lunch huts on all three Estates
" Communicate effectively across departments both within the Hall and across the whole Estate
" Fulfill any ad hoc requests from the Owner, a Guest or Estate Manager
" Retain a positive approach both during and outside the shooting season, and set the standard in terms of professionalism.
" Outside the season, there is a responsibility to ensure the effective maintenance of the main house and associated properties, as well as assisting in the management of additional Estate properties (Maintenance Manager is employed.)
" Assist in the management of other properties owned by the Principle, specifically in Ireland, and assist with service and hosting when required (approximately 4 long weekends per year).
" Superb, recently refurbished accommodation provided - 3 bedroom, semi-detached, partially furnished home, with garage, garden and salary in the region of £40-£45,000 a.a.e.
