- Description
- Our client is currently looking to recruit a formally trained Butler for a position based in Greece. Caring for fine china, glass and silver, preferably having a good wine knowledge, being able to drive are also part of the role as well as doing staff rotas and accounts. Helping the principals to organise private parties. Liaising with other members of staff over the principals’ movements. Busy period over summer.
Further duties:
· Ability to cook light meals (when the chef has a day off)
· Silver service.
· Basic maintenance (ie changing light-bulbs,etc).
Usual routine:
· Five days on; two days off
· Winter:
7.30am-2.00pm
5.00pm-finish
· Summer:
7.30am-1.00pm (approx.)
6.00pm-finish
These are the routine hours although he/she would need to be flexible.
During July/August, it is usually extremely busy with family members staying for a holiday, so he/she will need to be very flexible and work harder during these months. However, during the rest of the year, the principals travel quite a lot and are away from home, so there will be down time then.
Personality wise: professional, discretion, diplomacy, excellent manners, easy-going, flexible and adaptable, good people skills with ability to manage other household staff (mainly Greek staff. No knowledge of Greek language required; staff speak English). Ability to cope calmly with busy periods and during quieter times.
Experience: Top level.
Live-in, separate accommodation provided.
Two return flights to the UK/year.
