- Our private client is looking to recruit a permanent full time handy man for a live-out position based in Egham.
Overview:
A large private country Estate in Surrey requires an Fabric Engineer/Handyman to join the maintenance department. You will be responsible for working within a team of Maintenance engineers carrying out preventative maintenance and repairs as required to ensure the Estate, its grounds and equipment are working and kept to the high standards required by the client.
Responsibilities:
· You will be responsible for all fabric duties either on the Estate, or elsewhere as required under the supervision and/or request of the Estate Engineer, Client, Estate Manager.
· To undertake specific PPM jobs as issued by Chief Engineer.
· Support for the resident team during normal working hours and outside of normal working hours as occasionally maybe required.
· The role will require you to carry out minor electrical and plumbing duties which includes internal and external lighting checks and re-lamping, resetting electrical circuit breakers, repairing leaking taps unblocking drains.
· To undertake reactive duties when required and instructed.
· Carry out daily checks of lights and pick up any other faults that may need repairing during the day.
· You will be required to escort and supervise any contractors that come to the estate.
· Be available for a 1 in 4 call out over weekends.
· You may be required to do errands off the estate for the Estate team and/or guests.
· Assisting with the daily check and maintenance of the pools and fountains throughout the Estate under the supervision of the Plumbing engineer/Chief Engineer and reporting any issues found with the pools to the Estate Director/ Estate Engineer.
· Reporting any issues found or unresolved faults either in the house or on the property to the Estate Manager / Estate Engineer
· Ensure Gas heaters and BBQ gas bottles area always ready -check gas bottles after
· Assisting with the unloading and loading luggage/deliveries as required
· Weekly/monthly clean of interior shower/bath/sink drains
· You will be required to carry out any training felt necessary for you to better fulfil your work duties.
Skills required
· Painting and decorating skills to a 7 star standard
· High standard off woodworking skills
· Basic electrical skills
· Basic plumbing skills
· Good reasoning and problem solving
· Basic AV/IT skills an advantage
· Strong team work ethic
No qualifications required but would be considered an asset.
Requirements
· Full drivers licence with no more than 6 points.
· Live no more than 40 minutes from the estate
· No criminal record
· Good communication skills with a good command of English as a minimum
· Have a positive ‘can do’ attitude
· Punctual and self- motivated
Package
· Salary for this role is 26,000 to 30,000 k pa depending on experience and qualifications.
· You will be required to work Tuesday through Saturday from 8am to 5pm daily with 1 hour lunch break.
· Annual leave is 28 days her year with no entitlement to public holidays
